Love sees no boundaries
No borders
No seas
It just crosses
The lane
Between you and me.
When Krithika and Tyler walked into our office one fine morning as we held our breath for a moment. Love knows no boundaries. We had heard this quote since our teenage years, but here stood the finest example of it. Our resolve was clear- to give them a classic South Indian wedding with all the desi touches.
Tyler had never seen an Indian wedding, let alone be part of one. That was a challenge because Indian weddings take a lot of effort. And we didn’t want to disappoint any of their guests with poor management. All set to work, we first designed each function to mix the traditional values of the rituals with modern gaiety.
Haldi was an epiphanic function for many of their guests. “They will apply haldi to each other. Isn’t that a spice?” Ah yes! The amusing haldi function took place in the Taj’s banquet hall which was decorated with yellow flowers and silks. Truly a setting fit for kings and queens!
And while Indian grooms prefer the classic ghodi, Tyler took a step further to please Krithika. “Give me something different here. Something…memorable.” No cars. No horses. We arranged a retro Indian rickshaw adorned with ceremonial marigold garlands. Nothing says more desi than this!
Keeping all quips aside, we proceeded to arrange a serene South Indian wedding function. A mouth-watering buffet was arranged with palatable dishes for guests of all backgrounds. Next, we chose the creme de la creme of all decorations- flowers. They sat under flowers. Took blessings under flowers. Wore flower garlands and were sprinkled with florets on their heavenly wedding.
